2.3 Check course uSis

Once the controller has approved a course, it is moved to the Check course uSis step. The uSis Administration checks all the details of the new course and fills in a number of fields that are not mandatory in TEC but are required for uSis.

Validate uSis data

Check all fields, paying particular attention to:
- the study guide number – use capital letters
- the start date – is the automatically filled-in date correct?

Validate uSis attributes

Check all fields, paying particular attention to:
- Requirement: always fill in something. If no requirement is necessary in uSis, select AVV.
- uSis: here you can choose whether or not the course should be sent to uSis. This box is ticked by default.
- Studiegidsgids: here you can choose whether or not the course should be shown in the Study Guide. This box is ticked by default.

Methods

As this is a new course, the upper table for the course should contain the same number of methods as the lower table. If this is not the case, please investigate why this is so and whether it is correct. Incorrectly created methods can be removed by the Facultair Functioneel Beheerders.

For all methods, check whether the information under the link icons and pencil icons is correct and complete.
The link icon only indicates whether a method is compulsory. If a method is compulsory, there will be a yellow star at the beginning of the line.
The pencil icon contains all other information about the teaching method.

Check that the information you have entered is complete and correct. Also check the screenstep page with working agreements within your faculty, for example regarding the Grading Scale and how to fill in the Number of groups.

Assessments

As this is a new course, the upper table for the course should contain the same number of assessments as the lower table. If this is not the case, please investigate why this is so and whether it is correct. Incorrectly created assessments can be removed by the Facultair Functioneel Beheerders.

For all assessments, check whether the information under the link icons and pencil icons is correct and complete.

Under the drop-down menu, you will find the fields for the weighting of the course and whether a course is compulsory.
Click on the pencil icon for all other details of the type of assessment.

The weighting is transferred one on one to uSis. TEC does not take the weighting value into account and will therefore not check, for example, whether two types of assessment together have a weighting of 100.

Check that the information you have entered is complete and correct. Also check the screenstep page with working agreements within your faculty.
Pay particular attention to the informal credits.

Please pay special attention to:
- Catalog number of the assessment, use capital letters
- changes in the name fields
- make a selection under Test date
- make a selection under Show in study schedule?

Offering and Relations

Check that the information on the Offering and Relations pages is complete and correct.

Complete

On the Validate uSis data page, you have indicated whether or not the course should be sent to uSis. Depending on your choice, the following will happen when you click Send.

Not for uSis:

If the course does not need to be sent to uSis, it will be given the status “Not for uSis” and will not be included in the “Courses for uSis” workflow. The process of setting up the new course is now complete.

Courses for uSis
For a course that is transferred to uSis, complete your workflow by clicking on Finish. The task Courses for uSis overviews will then appear on the Vakdoorzetter's dashboard.
