8. How do I depublish a module/study?

Updated om

This article describes what you can do if you want to depublish a module/study after publishing.

After publishing, you are cannot depublish modules/studies.

Once the Prospectus has been published, you are no longer allowed to remove modules/studies from it.

SAZ policy stipulates that, following the publication date of the prospectus (1st of June for standard modules/programmes and 1st of March for minors, minor courses and exchange courses), no further changes may be made to the published prospectus, and therefore no courses or programmes may be removed from it.

Okay, but what is allowed then?

Situation 1: a module/study is discontinued.

Solution: indicate in the Prospectus text that the module/study has been discontinued.

Situation 2: a second module/study is created that technically replaces the original module/study.

For example, when a small title change requires a new (uSis) code, the module/study must be created again, resulting in two Prospectus pages for what is essentially the same module/study. If it concerns a minor change to an existing module/study (such as a title change), you still want the original, “incorrect” module/study to be removed from the online Prospectus.

Solution: the faculty must submit a Topdesk ticket to FB‑SOZ requesting the removal of the “incorrect” module/study from the Prospectus.

What if, the publication deadline has not yet passed?

Suppose you have set a course to ‘Published’. The deadline for the go-live of that course or programme has not yet passed, so it is not yet visible in the prospectus. You want to unpublish the course or programme. How do you do that?

You cannot unpublish it yourself.

Submit a Topdesk ticket to FB TEC. They will then remove the ‘published’ status.

Unpublishing depends on the right to execute a hook, and you either have that right or you do not. It is not possible to configure the system in such a way that you can do it before 1 May but not afterwards. Nor is it possible to configure it in such a way that you are allowed to use one hook but not another. For these reasons, it has been decided that this right lies solely with FB-SOZ.
